I have to agree with you. There is something magic and powerful about waterfalls. There are a couple of nice ones on the trail going up from the Cog Station to Lake of the Clouds.

NC should be named the Land of Waterfalls. There is a fellow who takes pictures of them and catalogs them by year. A very cool web site.

While we were up in the Whites in June/July, we were able to get in about 15 waterfalls out of the book "Waterfalls of the White Mountains".

Luckily they all had a decent amount of flowing water too. Pics are on a different computer. I'll post some of them later. They really are a beautiful site and some soo powerful!!

You know whats funny, I had that book the whole time with me in my computer bag while we were up there and didn't even know it was the book you were telling me about until I got home and looked at it. Anyway, we did get to see Ripley Falls, Crystal Cascade, and others on the hikes we did. I will be uploading these to my Fotki site as soon as I get the bathroom finished.

I got to 2 different waterfalls today in NC. They are at Hanging Rock State park NE of Winston-Salem, NC. There are 5 falls in the park and we got to Lower Cascades and Upper cascades falls. This is the lower one.
