Default moose and flowers along Livermore Trail

I hiked Livermore Trail from Lily Pond to Livermore Pass to Old Skidder Trail to The Flume.

Lily Pond...

European Columbine...

bluebead lilies...

lady's slippers

eft...

unknown butterfly (wingtops are blue)

eastern tiger swallowtail

adult bull moose with very interesting antlers. The velvet has white streaking and both antlers have more than the usual two front tines. I rarely see more than two tines out front. This one has three and four, and maybe more as the season progresses.

What a nice moose! He is massive. He started my way in this shot, got my heart thumpin'!!! He just walked past me and disappeared into extremely dense spruce. It's a magnificent animal!

Those are some of your most amazing moose shots yet Patrick. Did you ask him how his antlers got like that?

Thanks as always for sharing.

Default butterfly

Beautiful butterfly picture. I believe it is a silvery blue. I will direct my friend the butterfly enthusiast toward the picture for confirmation.

The blue butterfly shot, and the one of the moose eating, are both prize winners for sure. Some of your best IMO, both technically and aestically!!!

North Kingstown?!!! That's my hometown! Moved to Madison, NH, back in '97. My gandfather always proudly refered to himself as a swamp yankee, and he made the best clear broth clam chowder!

happy trails
