Mount Washington Observatory to Hold Chamber After Hours Event

Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Members Invited to Evening of Networking and Exploration at Weather Discovery Center

North Conway, NH – The Mount Washington Observatory is proud to announce that it will be hosting this month’s Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce After Hours event at its newly renovated Weather Discovery Center in North Conway village. On October 21, 2008 from 5-7 p.m., chamber members are invited to experience the Weather Discovery Center’s interactive exhibits, meet the hardy observers who live and work in the Home of the World’s Worst Weather^SM, and learn how to become a member of this legendary New Hampshire institution.

“We’re very excited to be hosting this event,” notes Events Coordinator Karen Hemeon. “We’re looking forward to showing our friends in the business community the updates we’ve made.”

Mount Washington Observatory Executive Director Scot Henley will speak about the organization’s latest programs and offerings, including the launch of their new distance learning program. They’ll hold a live video conference with their summit weather station, and observers will be on hand to answer questions. Select images from the Observatory’s exclusive collection of Brad Washburn photographs will be on display, and the one-of-a-kind Weather Store will be open for business. There will be great door prizes, and fine food and beverages will be served.
