About Us

The Observatory operates two Museum Shops, one at its Museum on the summit of Mount Washington, and the other at the Weather Discovery Center on Main Street in North Conway. The Shops feature a variety of merchandise to help enhance our visitors' appreciation and understanding of the mountain environment. The Shops include books (for adult and for younger readers) on weather and other relevant topics in science and regional history for adult and younger readers, basic weather instruments, and educational toys. Mount Washington and Observatory mementos are also available.

Observatory members receive a 10% discount on purchases at the Museum Shops.

The summit Museum Shop is open daily, 9 to 6, from mid-May to mid-October (weather permitting).

The North Conway Museum Shop at the Observatory's Weather Discovery Center, at 2779 Main Street at the north end of North Conway village, is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through October, from 10 to 5 and on Saturdays and Sundays from January 2nd through Memorial Day.

Our North Conway Shop has a growing selection of weather books, science toys, and Mount Washington mementoes, and features Davis Instruments and La Crosse Technology home weather stations.

The shop at the Weather Discovery Center in North Conway, NH is open daily in summer and early fall from 10 to 5.
