The Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center is an interactive science museum that brings the wonder of the atmosphere right to your fingertips!

Explore the science of climate and weather through fun, interactive exhibits like our air cannon, flow tank and wind room.

With hands-on exhibits and lessons for all levels of experience, the Weather Discovery Center is appropriate for all ages. And thanks to the support of Mount Washington Observatory members and donors, admission is free!

Hours

Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Cost

Thanks to the support of our members and donors, admission is free! Donations are gratefully accepted.

Group Tours

Group tours are available by advance arrangement, and we are happy to create a customized program that focuses on topics of interest to your particular group.

The typical time for a group tour is approximately one hour, and a maximum group size of 20 is optimal, though larger groups can be accommodated. The minimum recommended age is 5. A fee of $3 per person is charged to support the additional staff necessary for group tours, and tours outside our normal business hours may also be arranged with advance notice.

Camp-Ins

Camp-ins allow you to reserve the Weather Discovery Center just for your group, and experience everything it has to offer in a fun, unhurried format.

Directions

The Weather Discovery Center is located across from the Eastern Slope Inn at 2779 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH 03860. For directions, visit our Getting & Staying Here page.
