Update 3-15-2020

The Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center is closed as part of our response to the COVID-19 coronavirus. While we enjoy sharing our weather and climate mission with all our visitors, we take our responsibility to our community’s health seriously.  Closing the Weather Discovery Center is a step we are taking to do our part to maintain social distancing as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. While the Center is closed, keep in touch with what is happening at the Observatory through our web site and on social media.

The Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center is an interactive science museum that brings the wonder of the atmosphere right to your fingertips!

Explore the science of weather and climate through fun, interactive exhibits like our air cannon, sail boat pond and wind room. Opening late October 2019, come see our brand new snowcat theater and take a trip up the Mt. Washington Auto Road in winter as you learn about the Rockpile's alpine ecology and geology.

With hands-on exhibits and lessons for all levels of experience, the Weather Discovery Center is appropriate for all ages.
